General Assembly of Members and Workshops 2010

The General Assembly of Members of the ENVITECH-net was held on 16th June 2010 in Ustroń, Poland, followed by 2 days of thematic workshops.
During the meeting, the following topics were discussed:
Summary of the network’s activities in 2009 as well as presentation of the plan for the year 2010, changes of the Internal Regulations and acceptation of the new Steering Committee (elected earlier by electronic voting). Jan Skowronek, Coordinator of ENVITECH-net, and Antony Davies, Director of Beta Technology Ltd. from England, signed a cooperation Agreement. Members were informed about upcoming events, such as exhibition and seminar in the European Parliament concerning Silesian Voivodship, and Polish-German conference during the POLEKO trade show, both of which are a chance to promote the network’s scientific potential.
As an introduction to the workshops, speakers presented briefly core interests of some of the member and non-member organizations, and description of 2010 calls within FP7, Life+ and CIP-Ecoinnovation.
After this introduction, participants split into 5 thematic groups, in order to discuss their potential project interests:
- Water resource management – moderated by Jan Suschka, IETU
- Air protection and GCC prevention – moderated by Damian Kasperczyk, IICh PAN
- Waste management – moderated by Włodzimierz Sokół, EMAS
- Soil protection – moderated by Janusz Krupanek, IETU
- Cross-cutting issues – moderated by Arnold Black, ES KTN

Aim of the workshops was to work out jointly Expressions of Interest to current FP7, Life+ and CIP-Ecoinnovation calls.
