For the second time, the conference invites researchers and entrepreneurs from North Rhine-Westphalia and partner regions in Europe to find new European R&D partners for FP7 projects. In 2010, partner regions beside North Rhine-Westphalia are: Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, Poland and Russia. The first event in 2009 was a great success with over 200 participants. An international conference concerning R&D for Eco-innovation organised by ENVITECH-Net in Katowice, Poland in the dates of 22-23 October 2009.
This event will be a unique opportunity to identify, discuss, prioritise and recommend research needs for eco-innovations as a feedback of the international scientific community for planning the future Workprogrammes of FP7 as well as joint actions under the prepared ERA-Net Research for Eco-Innovation proposal. It will also help networking and promoting the existing eco-innovation research potential across Europe.

TECHNEAU (one of the major drinking water projects of the EU which started in January 2006 for a five-year period) has the goal to analyse the present water situation in different regions of the world and rethink current water supply options. TECHNEAU results are to be shared at Regional Technology Platforms (RTPs). These one-day workshops will enable intensive information exchange through personal contacts and dissemination of knowledge between the project team and local stakeholders like operators, researchers, regulators and technology suppliers.

FP7 - Environmental Research - next call for proposals

The preparation and further consultations on the Work Programme 2009 are progressing. It is currently planned to launch the call for proposals in July 2008 with a deadline for submission in January 2009. This period between publication and submission of proposals is longer than in the previous calls and shall provide opportunities to applicants to prepare and consolidate their projects. The budget available is of about a 200 million, distributed among 52 different topics for research.
